Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, has confirmed that PDP Chieftain Iyiola Omisore was on Sunday morning arrested by the anti graft agency.
According to him, Omisore was arrested as part of investigation into a case of receiving and misappropriating N700 million from the Office of the National Security Adviser, between June and November, 2014.
He added that a court warrant for Mr. Omisore’s arrest was gotten before the arrest was made.
In March, EFCC had declared Mr. Omisore wanted for his alleged roles in the arms deal scandal. In response, Omisore had threatened to sue the anti-graft agency for N500 million damages for defamation.
