The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cleared Mr Peter Obafemi to contest the party's primaries ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election.
A statement issued by he party`s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Olisa Metuh, said, "After a careful review of procedures, processes and documentation as properly submitted, the NWC of the PDP has issued final clearance to Peter Obafemi".
The statement said that by the decision of NWC, Obafemi was now free to join other aspirants to campaign and participate in the congresses and the subsequent governorship primaries.
The PDP NWC had on March 12 withdrawn the provisional clearance given to Obafemi by the party's Ekiti State Screening Appeal Committee. The clearance of Obafemi by the PDP NWC brings to 14, the number of aspirants to participate in the Ekiti primaries preparatory to the governorship election.
