Ekiti state governor-elect, Mr Ayo Fayose, on Monday warned the outgoing government against moves to secure a N1billion loan barely three days to the end of its tenure.

This warning is contained in a letter with reference number OGE/EK/ADM/ 094 dated October 10 and signed by the Chairman, Ekiti State Transition Committee, Chief Dipo Anisulowo.

The letter was addressed to the Managing Director, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in Lagos and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti.

It stated that the Fayose's team had it on good authority that the new loan was been sourced to pay the severance allowances of his outgoing political appointees.

The committee also raised the alarm over an alleged illegal transfer of over N856 million from SUBEB project to another illegal account.

It stated that the money was the state's counterpart contributions to the Federal Government Intervention Funds.

The letter warned that granting loans to an administration which had less than four days to wind down was suspicious.

It explained that if the appeal to the bank not to grant the loan was not heeded, the incoming government would not honour the deal.
