Enoch Adejare Adeboye, a Southern cleric, and the General Overseer, Worldwide of the Redeemeed Christian Church of God, had led his congregation in prayers over kidnap cases in Nigeria. Specifically during the June Holy Ghost Service tagged 'Abba Father 5', on June 2, Adeboye had prayed that God should expose kidnap kingpins in Nigeria and their sponsors – he also prayed that their shall be no peace of mind for them until they are brought to justice.

''My Father and My God, every person involved in any form of kidnapping, whether children kidnapping or any form of kidnapping, send down your fire on them... Don't let them rest, don't let feel at ease, don't let them feel at peace. And if there is any one among security forces cooperating with these kidnappers, expose them..'' Adeboye prayed.

Days – in fact, a week – after Adeboye's supplications, Evans was arrested. The billionaire kidnapper, has since his arrest, continue confess his atrocities, and name his accomplices.
