Three people have been confirmed dead following an explosion of two fuel-laden articulated vehicles at Gyazama village,
along the Funtua-Birnin Gwari road in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Four other people suffered varying degrees of burns.
The incident occurred when some drivers were transferring fuel from a broken down tanker to another using a pumping machine.

Government Council, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dandume two of the deceased were operators of the pumping machine.
According to him, the fire could not be contained by the area's firemen and it took the intervention of firemen from neighbouring areas to put the fire off.
The blaze which started on Saturday evening lasted till Sunday morning before it was subdued.
The injured ones are receiving treatment at Funtua General Hospital.
