According to the FCT Primary Health Care Development Board, there is an insufficient supply of meningitis vaccines for the effective administration of vaccinations to all age groups in the territory.

According to the Executive Secretary of the board, Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, the board had only received two million syringes and vaccines for the immunisation programme given by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).
As a result, the board has come to the decision to administer the vaccine to people from age one to 29 due to this age group's special vulnerability to the disease than the older ones.

He said: "People are now reducing their age in order to take the vaccine and we have started having shortage." (NAN)
