FIFA issues NFF a query over Keshi’s comments

World Football governing body,FIFA has issued the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) a query over racism allegations trailing Super Eagles coach,Stephen Keshi.
Keshi has until Thursday to clarify comments he made about Malawian coach,Tom Saintfiet, alluding that he is “a white dude who should go back to Belgium.”
The 51-year old coach was said to have made the comments in an exchange of words, following Saintfiet’s request to have the 2014 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Malawi moved away from Calabar, citing insecurity as the reason.
The NFF acknowledged receiving the query before the game against Malawi, but refused to tell Keshi in order not to distract him.
“We can confirm that we actually received an official query from FIFA before the game against Malawi in Calabar,” chairman of the NFF technical director,Chris Green told BBC Sport.
“It was addressed to Keshi to respond, but we felt it would create an unnecessary distraction to inform him before a crucial game.”
“We are all putting our thoughts together and will give Keshi an opportunity to defend himself within the deadline given by FIFA.”
“The federation is confident that coach Stephen Keshi is not a racist and what transpired between both coaches has been blown out of proportion.”
“We are very optimistic that everything will be sorted out amicably.”
