On Sunday, there was fire outbreak at MRS filing station which is located along Airport road, Abuja. The fire outbreak started when a petrol tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded while discharging the product.
The fire started at about 6:41pm and no casualty was recorded as officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) were on ground for rescue operations. The fire only burnt a canopy but did not affect the main building or underground tank.
The actual cause of the fire remains unknown as officials of the filling station have refused to address the press.
