A New York jury has convicted the Nigerian born UN mission lawyer and former Deeper Life Bible Church Pastor, Ifeanyichuckwu Eric Abakporo, on charges of fraud and might get the maximum term of 30 years in prison when sentences in November.
His co-conspirator, Latanya Pierce, was also found guilty and will be sentenced separately in December. Both were found guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and bank fraud.
Both were indicted on the numerous charges from 2002 to 2012. They both owned and controlled numerous real estate related businesses and worked together to defraud mortgage lenders, financial institutions, property owners and buyers and others of real estate. They also swindled a 78 year old lady American lady of her property.
