Sports Former NFF president Aminu Maigari responsible for the success of the Super Falcons - Pinnick

Former president of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) Aminu Maigari, has been commended by his successor, Amaju Pinnick for the work his board did in preparing the Super Falcons for the African Women's Championship.

Pinnick said that the Super Falcons were triumphant in Namibia because of the preparations they got from the past board of the NFF.

"I want to commend the last board for preparing the team. Football Administration is a continuum. It would have been our responsibility to bear if the Falcons had failed though,” Pinnick told footballlive.ng

"The Aminu Maigari-led board put together 90 per cent of the team’s preparation. But to me victory is not defined by trophies alone, it’s about creating a sustainable football culture, and that’s our goal.”

"We have the potentials, reach and passion and that’s what will drive this administration,” he said.

The Super Falcons last Saturday won an unprecedented seventh AWC title, beating Cameroon 2-0 in the finals of the competition.
