Fresh crisis is currently brewing in Taraba state as 62 newly appointed special advisers and special assistants were denied access to offices at the Government House, Jalingo.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the new appointees are currently operating under shades of trees while others report at the acting governor’s office every morning.

Government officials have refused to issue official statements on the stalemate, however, a few who spoke anonymously blamed the situation on the cold war between the Acting Governor Garba Umar and ailing Governor Danbaba Suntai; although Suntai's own part in the war is been waged by fierce loyalists who have fiercely refused to be booted out.

Another officials who spoke anonymously said, "whether the people of this state believe it or not that Taraba is operating a parallel government since the return of Governor Danbaba Suntai ,last August and beside s ,some of them working directly under Danbaba’s office are been perceived as threats to Garba Umar’s government and for that reason, everything about their offices are been neglected, including maintenance of offices amongt other".
