Sports Germany coach Joachim Low calls for patience on his young team

Germany coach Joachim Low has pleaded for people to be patient as he tries to carve out another winning team.

In July,Low led Germany to win the World Cup tournament after 24 years, but they have been a shadow of the triumphant one in Brazil,

With some of the players having hung up their international boots,Low is optimistic that his young players will eventually be successful.

Last weekend,Germany were beaten in their Euro 2016 qualifiers, losing 2-0 to Poland to dent their qualification chances.

"We shouldn't put too much strain on the players," Low said. "The team are self-critical and the atmosphere is good, just as it was before.

"I will give our full backs plenty of time. You cannot replace Philipp Lahm overnight."

"If you ask me what is the mood like now, fury is the wrong word, anger is the wrong word," says Low. "But what you can feel is some kind of determination, that we really badly want these three points against Ireland.

"But there is no incredible disappointment in the team. That would be wrong to say."
