Germany win sixth straight European Women’s title

Germany on Sunday won the Women’s European Championship for a record sixth successive time,after defeating Norway 1-0 in the finals in Stockholm.
But the star of the show was German goalkeeper,Nadine Angerer,who saved two penalty kicks in the game,to aid her team’s passage to victory.
Despite missing top stars through injuries,Germany was still a handful for other teams in the two-week tournament,though not as dominant as they would have been expected to be,but they still managed to once again emerge as the European champions.
Germany got the only goal of the game,after a nice interchanging of passes gave substitute Anja Mittag,the opportunity to finish off a nice move and score.
Norway were tipped as favourites coming into the finals,having defeated Germany in the group stages,but they didn’t make use of their opportunities,especially with the penalties,Trine Ronning and Solveig Gulbrandsen missed in each half .
With the win,Germany have now won each of the Women’s European Championship,held since 1993.
