Alhaji Mohammed Buba, the Minority Leader of the Gombe State House of Assembly, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Buba, who represents Funakaye North Constituency, announced his defection at a ceremony in Bajoga, Funakaye Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.

Addressing newsmen after receiving the PDP membership card in Bajoga, Buba said that he heeded to the call by his supporters to do so.

He also said the achievements of Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo in the constituency, including construction of township roads, establishment of the College for Legal and Islamic Studies and construction of a model primary school, was another reason for his defection.

According to him, PDP is his party and the reason he went to APC is the challenges faced by the previous administration.

Malam Mohammed Babani, Chairman of PDP in the local government area, commended the decision to join the party.

He assured the lawmaker of full support by the PDP and members, to develop the constituency and the country at large.

Alhaji Bakura Bajoga, state Commissioner for Trade and Industry, also expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for attesting to the efforts made by the current administration.
