Politics Gombe Governor distributes N58 million as Christmas gift to Citizens

The Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, when touring senatorial districts on Saturday in Kaltungo, announced a N58 million donation to Christians in four Local Governments, to enable them celebrate Christmas.

The local governments, predominantly populated by Christians, are Balanga, Billiri, Kaltungo and Shongom. The areas make up Gombe South Senatorial District.

The governor said party officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders and other stakeholders in the area had also been given money to assist them during the Yuletide.

He also announced government’s plans to permit chairmen to recruit 20 youths in each of the 11 local government areas of the state next year with a view to empowering them.

The governor said many other persons in the state were given appointments as aides, adding that more appointments were being worked out for others to benefit.
