Politics Good Governance Index Ranks Nigeria 41st Among 52 African Countries

Nigeria has been ranked 41st among 52 African countries that are relatively backward in human development by the 2013 Index of Good Governance.

The ranking which was made public at the 2013 Good Governance Summit was held in Dakar, Senegal, in collaboration with Mo Ibrahim Foundation.

According to LEADERSHIP, Nigeria was assessed across 3 broad areas; Security, Sustainable Economic Opportunity and Human Development.

Neighbouring Niger Republic was ranked 28th.

Meanwhile, Mr Ibrahim Lamorde, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),on Monday announced that Nigeria has been ranked 7th in the world in the transfer of illicit funds.
