Gov. Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State on Wednesday at the annual AFAN Festival held at Kagoro in Kaura said his administration would revive moribund industries in the state to boost its revenue base.

He said that the development, when achieved, would also provide employment opportunities to the teeming youths in the state.

The governor said that the exercise would be carried out through Public Private Partnership (PPP) and that discussions with investors were ongoing.

“We have engaged the approach of the PPP. The Kachia Ginger Processing Factory and the Kafanchan Flour Mill, amongst others are industries to be considered,’’ he said.

Yero said his administration was also determined to explore other areas of revenue generation.

“We have identified the potential of culture and tourism and would explore the sector,’’ he said.

The Chairman, Kaura Local Government, Mr Kumai Badu, commended the state government for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere which guaranteed successful hosting of the festival after two years of suspension.
