Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state yesterday reacted to the diversion of N2bn bailout funds by government officials, as claimed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC has last week arrested three government appointees: Principle Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Pascal Obi; Director of Finance, Casmier Uzoho; and treasurer Iheoma Kenneth over alleged diversion of N2bn bailout funds

Okorocha, at the Government House, denied the allegation and frowned at the way some Imo people write petition to EFCC against the state government which he said has led to incessant invasion of the state by the agency

He said all workers in Imo State had been paid their salaries and government is not owing any worker, adding that the N2bn bailout fund given to Imo State by the Federal government had been judiciously utilized for the payment of workers’ salaries.
