The Campaign for Democracy, CD, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to remove the Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Lawal Musa Daura, for accusing the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, of being responsible for the killing of five Fulani herdsmen and two other Igbos in Abia State.

In a statement in Onitsha, Anambra State, the National Publicity Secretary of CD, Dede Uzor.A. Uzor, described Daura’s allegation as false, having been investigated by Governors Rochas Okorocha and Okezie Ikpeazu of Imo and Abia states after which it was discovered that the herdsmen were actually killed by some kidnappers who were on the rampage in some parts of Abia and not IPOB or MASSOB members, as alleged by Daura.

Uzor contended that the 14-day ultimatum given to Daura was imperative because his allegation was inciting and volatile and capable of leading to ethnic upheaval between Hausa and Igbo.
