A frontline industrialist in Osun, Mrs. Olayinka Obaleye, popularly known as Yinka Oba, was on Tuesday night abducted by some gunmen.
Obaleye is the Chief Executive Officer of Yinka Oba Foam which has its factory along Ijebu Jesa Road.
She was kidnapped in Ilesa. The septugenarian had closed at her factory, which produces mattresses, when her captors, who had been hanging around, swooped on her.
Obaleye’s driver, whose name was not immediately known, was said to have been shot and killed by the gunmen before they drove away with their target.
The killing of the driver was said to have scared residents away as the gunmen escaped without hindrance.
A source close to the family said the abductors had not made any contact with the family.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, who confirmed the kidnap, said the police were on the trail of the abductors.(NAN)
