David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, won the Artiste of the Year Award 2014, at the Headies Award held in Lagos, last night.
Seven artistes were nominated for the Headies Artiste of The Year Award category, including Davido,Wizkid, Kcee, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Phyno, and Flavour.
Davido, who was born in Atlanta Georgia, launched his debut album, Omo Baba Olowo in 2012, and has been releasing several hit songs ever since.
According to HipHop World, the organizers of Headies, the artiste of the year award category is for the “Most critically and commercially adjudged artiste in the year under review, and overall most successful artiste for the year under review.”
