A young man identified simply as Sadiq, has been beaten up by his community for allegedly committing acts of homosexuality. The incident began when a friend of Sadiq, Ibrahim, raised an alarm that his male organ had disappeared.
According to Ibrahim, Sadiq had visited him at his house at night and had began to have sex with him deep into the night. Though they had been friends, Ibrahim never knew that Sadiq was a homosexual. Sadiq confessed to local vigilantes that he had been homosexual for the past three years.
Sadiq claimed that a white garment prophet within the community was the one who prepared the concoction in which he used to engage in the act of homosexuality. The alleged prophet denied the story, after he was brought to the scene by the vigilantes.
The entire community of Iyana-Iyesi area of Ota, Ogun state is incensed by the scandal caused. Nigeria does not look favourably upon gay practice and recently passed a law stipulating a 14 year jail term for offenders found guilty.
