The Federal government, 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) shared the sum of N2.56 trillion in the first half of 2017 from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).

Economic Confidential reports that apart from the Federal Government that got N1.09tr, Akwa Ibom has the highest allocation among the states as it received N92.72 bn within the period under review.

Nine other states in the leadership positions are Lagos which is second with N91.45bn, Rivers comes third with N81.41bn.

Delta is fourth with N71.98bn, Kano State is fifth with N62.90bn, while Bayelsa is sixth with N61.45bn.

Others among the first ten are Katsina state in the seventh position garnering N44.80bn, Oyo hits number eight with N43.78bn, Kaduna is at ninth position with N42.60bn and the tenth place is Borno State.

The states with the lowest allocation from the Federation Account within the period under review are Gombe at 36th position with N24.87bn, followed by Ebonyi state with N24.91bn in the 35th position, Nasarawa State in the 34th position with N25.41bn.

Ekiti and Kwara states took the 33rd and 32nd positions respectively with N25.57bn and N26.48bn.

South-south states put together lead the pack with N368bn, the Northwest is second with N283bn and Southwest states third with N262bn.

The North Central geopolitical zone got N190bn to stand at the fourth position, while the fifth and the sixth positions went to Northeast and Southeast with N189bn and N154.7bn respectively.
