Amid growing terrorism in the world, counter-terrorism initiative has been deployed by countries round the globe. This incorporates the practice, tactics, techniques, and strategies that governments, militaries, police departments and corporations adopt to attack terrorist threats and/or acts, both real and imputed.
In the US, Foreign Internal Defence (FID) is used by its military for programmes supporting other nations in their attempts either to suppress insurgency, lawlessness or subversion or reduce the conditions under which these threats to security could develop. Counter-terrorism includes both the detection of potential acts and the response to related events.
