Suspected Renegade group of the Independent Marketers Branch, (Warri Unit), of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, (NUPENG), weekend reportedly seized the IMB secretariate preventing the newly elected chairman, Comrade Benjamin Ifeta and his executives from carrying out their constitutional duty.

Angered by the development and violence, the national body of NUPENG at the weekend, halted distribution of products in Delta which supplies Edo and neigbouring states, asking the Police authorities to properly investigate alleged forgery, impersonation, threat to lives and abuse of police escort to intimidate and harass IMB/NUPENG members in Warri.

Distribution of petroleum products won’t be supplied until peace is restored.

LEADERSHIP however reported that the renewed crisis may not be unconnected with the overwhelming victory of Comrade Benjamin Ifeta as the Warri chairman of IMB held last week in Benin.
