Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa state on Monday commended the people of Yobe for the successful conduct of Saturday’s local government elections in the state, saying it was a sign that come 2015 elections can be successfully conducted in the state.

A statement signed by the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Malam Ahmed Sajoh said, “the massive turn out of voters and the peaceful manner the process was conducted has proved all skeptics totally wrong about the possibility of conducting 2015 election in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states”.

The statement urged those it called "Abuja Politicians" to stop misleading the presidency, INEC and security agencies about the real situations in the affected states.

The statement concluded by saying, "Furthermore, the successful conduct of the local government elections in Yobe has proved beyond any doubt that those flying the kite about non-conduct of elections in our states in 2015 are just playing out an agenda aimed at disenfranchising us.
