Liyel Imoke, Governor of cross River state said he would like to be succeeded by somebody from Northern Senatorial District of the state, the governor also denied anointing a successor.

Addressing the plenary session of the state elders’ consultative forum, Imoke said, the decision to zone the governorship in 2015 was taken as part of the stabilizing factors in the state. The governor urged the people of Cross River to support the zoning arrangement for continued unity and progress in the state.
