In a bid to stave off probable attack on the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as it hosts the World Economic Forum next week, President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered a near-shutdown of the nation’s capital city.

The president said the move is to reduce the flow of traffic into the city. Saturday Mirror sources at the Presidency said the decision was taken as part of measures tabled during yesterday’s emergency security council meeting which was summoned by the president.

In a statement issued in Abuja last night and made available to Saturday Mirror, the president ordered the closure of all government offices and schools in the capital. Jonathan also advised private companies with large staff or customer flow to close shop.
