Apple has revealed its two new devices, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, two devices it describes as having a 'seamless, continuous design' with improved landscape view and a powerful A8 chip, Independent writes.

The highly anticipated smartphones were announced by the Apple CEO, Tim Cook, at the Flint center in Cupertino, California.

The 'dramatically thinner' smartphones will be released on September 19 2014.

Information gathered about this new device include:

Specifications:

The "iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch display, while iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch display, both coming with a new Retina HD display made with ion-strengthened cover glass and available in gold, silver and space gray colours," says Independent. "They are the thinnest iPhones yet, with the 6 measuring just 6.9mm in depth, and the most powerful, able to sustain performance-intensive tasks like playing a game at higher frame rates - the A8 processor being 50 times faster than that of the original iPhone.

Price:

"
The iPhone 6 starts at $199 with a two-year contract and the Plus at $299 on the same deal in the US, with UK prices to follow.

Pre-orders start on 12 September, though the devices officially arrive on 19 September in the USA, France, Hong Kong, Canada, Germany, Singapore, the UK, Australia and Japan, with more countries to follow soon after."

However people who will be buying the no-contract iPhone 6 (like Nigerians for example) should expect to pay the following (converted to naira for perspective) -
