The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Monday n a communiqué issued and signed by the National President, Alhaji Aminu Abdulkadri, said that the association was collaborating with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to ensure sustainable supply of petroleum products.
Abdulkadri, who re-assured Nigerians of stable fuel supply across the country, also urged members of the public to avoid panic buying.
“There is no scarcity of fuel in the country or fear of forthcoming fuel scarcity and people should stop given wrong signals over scarcity of petroleum products.
“IPMAN members are lodging petroleum products from all NNPC depots across the country and NNPC and Pipelines Products and Marketing Company (PPMC) have assured us of sufficient stock in the country,’’ he said.
According to him, NNPC has, in spite of the unending challenges posed by pipeline vandalism and product theft, re-assured IPMAN of sufficient products in its marine and national strategic reserves.
He cautioned members of the public against any form of hoarding or panic buying of petroleum products in anticipation of scarcity.
