The Federal Government has approved a loan request of $110 million from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to improve health care delivery in Katsina State.

Commissioner for Health in the state, Hajiya Mariatu Bala-Usman, said the loan, if granted, would be used essentially to develop and upgrade primary health care in the 34 local government areas of the state.

The Commissioner spoke last Saturday at the Annual General Meeting of the Katsina State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), in her paper titled, “Challenges facing health care delivery in Katsina State and the way forward.”
