Politics Jigawa former Grand Khadi dies at 85

A statement issued by the Press Secretary to Hadejia Emirate Council, Muhammad Talaki in Hadejia has announced the death of Alhaji Abdulwahab Tahir, a former Jigawa Grand Khadi, at the age of 85.

The statement said Tahir died on Tuesday night after a brief illness at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano.

According to the statement, the deceased was born in 1928 and served as Grand Khadi between 1991 and 2000.

Until his death, Tahir was the Chairman, Jigawa State Council of Ulama and also the Chairman, Governing Board of the College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Ringim.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the deceased, who was buried according to Islamic rites on Wednesday in Hadejia, is survived by three wives and 38 children.
