Malam Kamisu Baranda, a 20-year old man has been arrested by the Jigawa State Police Command for allegedly committing sexual acts with a goat in the Baranda forest in Dutse Local Government Area.
The chief magistrate’s court has asked that he be remanded in prison for two weeks. According to magistrate Auwalu Sani Balago, the accused didn’t confess to committing the crime, but the court has remanded him to allow the police make further enquiries into the matter.
Kamisu is said to have admitted to owning the goat and that he had asked the goat for permission before having intercourse with it. He said this wasn’t the first time he was having sex with animals in the bush - and that he had done it for more than ten times without being arrested.
He said if he knew he would be eventually arrested, he would not have tried having sex with animals, as that was the reason he avoided having sex with women in his area.
According to Kamisu, animals met his needs, and he avoided the women in the area to forestall embarrassment, and now he had been ambushed by people in the area.
