President Goodluck Jonathan arrived in London early on Wednesday morning to attend a two-day meeting of Nigeria's Honorary International Investors Council.

He was accompanied by Dr Nurudeen Mohammed, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and some senior government officials.

The meeting will hold from Nov. 20 to Nov. 22 and is expected to address various issues ranging from Nigeria’s economic investment landscape, the Petroleum Industry Bill and security.

Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta and Kashim Shettima of Borno as well as the ministers of Finance, Petroleum, Trade and Investment and Information and Technology are expected to brief the council on their responsibilities.

The meeting of the council, coordinated by Baroness Lynda Chalker, will also feature a review of Nigeria’s existing investment policies by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The Paris-based international organisation is dedicated to the promotion of policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.

The council, established in 2004, is an organisation of prominent investors from around the world which advises the governments on matters pertaining to their countries’ economic development.
