President Goodluck Jonathan and governors under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last night entered into a closed door meeting.
Although details of the meeting’s agenda was still sketchy at the time of filing this report, LEADERSHIP gathered the president who has been touring the country to consult with key stakeholders may have summoned the meeting to consult with the governors preparatory to declare his intention for the 2015 presidential election.
Last Saturday, Jonathan met with the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero in Kano before proceeding to the South-west where he held closed door meetings with the Ooni of Ife, Okunade Sijuade; Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi; Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu and Akran of Badagry, Aholu Menu- Toyi 1 respectively.
The president’s tour tagged private and consultation visit to the palaces of the royal fathers is considered widely in the country’s political space as part of his moves to seek their royal blessings for re-election
