Metro Journalists Win Big at 2016 Promasidor Awards

Seven journalists from different media outfits were on Friday decorated at the 2016 Promasidor Quill awards.

The 7-category award ceremony was held at the Sheraton Hotels Ikeja,Lagos.

In the categories, Olatunji Ololade of The Nation Newspaper won the Best CSR and Industry Reporter of the Year award, Ajibola Amzat of The Guardian won the Children and Nutrition category while Tobi Aworinde of Punch clinched the Education Reporter of the Year award

Also, Online Reporter of the Year went to Kemi Busari of Vendor News, now with Nigerian Bullletin, Daphne Uduneje of Nigerian Pilot won the Brand Advocate reporter, Kolawole Aliu won the Best Photo of the Year category and Tunde Ajaja of Saturday Punch emerged winner of the Future Writer of the Year category.

Ajibola Amzat of The Guardian Newspaper in a close contest outshine Olatunji Ololade of The Nation Newspaper to emerge as the overall winner of the 2016 Promasidor Quill Awards.

Amzat would enjoy an all-expense paid trip to London for a journalism training course with Thomson Foundation.

Winners of each of the categories were given iPads, except the winner of the Best Photo Story, who went home with a camera and a laptop.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Promasidor Nigeria Limited Mr. Olivier Thiry, said the award was established to celebrate excellence in journalism in Nigeria as this year’s event was an improvement on the last.
