A trader simply identified as Austin was yesterday burnt to death by an angry mob at Ise Ekiti in Ise Orun Local Government Area of Ekiti State, for shooting his landlord's daughter to death.
Austin reportedly shot the girl in front of her father’s house at Iro Oraye area of the town after the duo had an argument. He then attempted to escape but was caught by a group of persons who took him the palace of the monarch of Ise Ekiti, Oba Adetunji Ajayi.
All efforts by the Monarch to calm flaying tempers failed, as Austin was reportedly grabbed from there by an angry mob and taken to the town’s main motor park where he was burnt to death.
The Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ise police station was hit on the head for attempting to rescue Austin just before he was burnt. The DPO is currently been hospitalized, meanwhile, the Ekiti state Police command is yet to issue a statement concerning the incident.
