The Interim Management Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, on Monday rejected the resignation of the state Chairman, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.

Baba-Ahmed had resigned on Sunday, citing the failure of the national secretariat to resolve the party's crisis in the state as the reason behind his resignation.

However the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Mohammed Attahir said even though the party understood his reasons for the resignation, it had however rejected it.

He said that the committee had met and appraised the situation, and had resolved to recognise Baba-Ahmed as the authentic state chairman.

"We the members of the interim management committee said no, we are only interested in somebody that we know who can deliver us to the promised land.

"We are interested in somebody that cannot be intimidated,'' Attahir said.

" We are doing everything possible to make the national headquarters to address the situation so that the problem in Kaduna State is resolved quickly and is not allowed to destroy other branches in the North.''

Attahiru urged the national secretariat of the party to allow for the conduct of members registration in the state.
