The Kano state house of assembly has set up an eight-man committee to investigate the allegations levelled against the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

THE CABLE reports that the house voted to probe the Emir after Ibrahim Gama, a member representing Nasarawa constituency of the state, moved a motion on urgent public importance. Gama listed some of the allegations leveled against the Emir such as spending funds without the approval of Umar Ganduje, governor of Kano, attacking the polices of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and sending his daughter to represent him without wearing full traditional regalia.

The emir has also been accused of mismanaging N4 billion he inherited from Ado Bayero, his predecessor. The eight-man committee will be chaired by Labaran Abdul Madari, chief whip of the house.

There are indications that the Emir may be deposed if found guilty by the panel.
