Business Kano govt. approves N1.6 bn for road constructions

The Kano State Government has approved N1.68 billion for the revalidation of the contract for the construction of Karaye-Rogo and Makarfi roads in the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Malam Umar Jibrin, made this known in Kano on Wednesday when he briefed newsmen on the outcome of the meeting of the State Executive Council.

He also said that the council had approved N424 million for the second phase of the 2013 mass literacy campaign

Besides, Jibrin said that the council approved N418 million for the conversion of the abandoned ultramodern women centre at Kofar na Isa to a sports college.

"The council also approved N312 million for the procurement of 3,000metric tonnes of aluminium sulphate (Alum),” he said.

He also said that the council approved N92 million for the supply of 610 desktop computers to 10 selected schools across the state.
