Kano Shuts 18 Schools and Suspends 50 Others

The Kano State task force committee on private schools said it had closed down 18 private schools indefinitely, and suspended 50 others following their failure to fulfil all operational requirements in accordance with laid down rules and regulations governing the conduct of private schools in the state.

An indiscriminate increase of school fees by privates schools have also been shown to be an issue the task force is facing.

The committee is in the process of preparing a report to the state’s Ministry of Justice for necessary legal against the defaulting schools.
