The Kano State Government in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer in the Office of the Head of Service, Alhaji Mustapha Fagge on Saturday declared Monday as a public holiday to commemorate new Islamic year, 1435 A.H.(Muharram).
The statement said the public holiday is declared to allow workers to commemorate the first day of the Islamic year, advising the people to observe the holiday by praying for peace in the state and the country in general.
It also urged them to continue to live in peace with one another so as to enhance economic growth and development of the state.
