Hon. Hassan Shalla, speaker of the Kebbi state House of Assembly and his deputy, Hon. Jafar Mohammed have been impeached.
LEADERSHIP reports that the duo were impeached on Monday during a House sitting presided over by a member, Abubakar Sabo, who served as temporary speaker.
Shalla was impeached on grounds of breach of trust for misappropriating constituency allowances approved by the governor for the 24 House members.
After the impeachment, Aminu Jega was elected and sworn in as speaker.
