Nigeria U-20 player Kelechi Iheanacho scored his first goal on his debut for Manchester City against MLS side Sporting Kansas City in a club friendly.

Iheanacho who emerged the best player of the FIFA U-17 World Cup held last year in the United Arab Emirates made a good impression in the game for the English Premier League champions.

There were fears that Iheanacho might find it difficult to break into a star-studded Manchester City team, but with starts like this,he could be forcing his way into coach Manuel Pellegrini's plans.

City took the lead in the first-half through 21-year old Argentine, Bruno Zuculini, who volleyed in an effort to send the English club into the lead.

Kansas City captalised on a defensive blip by City to draw level, however Dedryck Boyata, headed City back in front going into the break.

Aleksandar Kolarov added a third goal to increase City's lead before Iheanacho got the fourth to seal victory for his side.

The Nigerian Star saw 90 minutes of action in the encounter and earned his call up which also featured several youngsters and some fringe first team players for Manchester City.
