Sports Keshi has shown no technical improvement,he should be sacked on Wednesday - Lawal

Irrespective of the outcome of Nigeria's match against Sudan on Wednesday, former Super Eagles player Garba Lawal believes that coach Stephen Keshi has reached the end of the road.

Keshi has come under fire for Nigeria's poor performances in the 2015 African Nations Cup qualifiers, with many clamouring for his sack.

Although Keshi has not been handed a substantive deal by the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) he was managing the team on an interim basis with the hopes of getting a permanent deal.

However,Lawal is advocating for Keshi to be fired after the match tomorrow(Wednesday) as he thinks he no longer has anything to offer the team.

“I believe Keshi should not be allowed to see the team through the qualifiers because he has lost it. Out of the three matches the team have played, they have lost two, so what is the use of his continuation?" Lawal told The Punch.

“We should not take chances with someone who has shown no technical improvement in his team. There are three more matches to go but he should be allowed to go after the second leg of the Sudan match.”

“Anybody who sees that team will know that the team has no tactical game plan.

“They played very badly in Khartoum and could have easily won the match with a better game plan than what was used. Such pattern was used in the 3-2 home loss to Congo last month. So, there is no need taking chances with the team.”
