Sports Keshi prunes Super Eagles list to 23 players

Super Eagles coach,Stephen Keshi,has yielded to the demands of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) by the cutting down the number of players invited for the 2014 World Cup qualifier,against Malawi.
The NFF queried why Keshi will have a bloated squad,inviting 24 homebased players and 18 foreign based players then(Sunday Mba and Godfrey Oboabona have since secured moves abroad)
But Keshi on Thursday revealed that the squad has been trimmed down to a manageable number of 23 players.
“We’ve pruned down the list to 23 and I just want to see how I can work with the players that will make it to Calabar,” Keshi told Brila FM.

Goalkeepers and Defenders: Vincent Eyeama, Austin Ejide, and Chigozie Agbim made the cut while Elderson Echiejile, Efe Ambrose, Godfrey Oboabona, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Solomon Kwambe, James Okwuosa .
Midfielders and Attackers: John Mikel Obi, Fegor Ogude, Sunday Mba, John Ogu, Victor Moses, Ogenyi Onazi, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Nosa Igiebor, Ahmed Musa, Brown Ideye, Shola Ameobi, Emmanuel Emenike, Obinna Nsofor, and Uche Nwofor.
