The government of Korea has expressed its immense displeasure with the Nigerian Government over its alleged abandonment of N80million of HIV/AIDS equipment it donated to the country.

The HIV/AIDS equipment were donated to Nigeria in 2009 and shipped to the country, but the country, for the past four years, has not cleared the equipment from the port.

The Korean government has demanded that the FG give an explanation for its negligence. The government of Korea is especially offended because it gave the Nigerian government N1.5million in 2010 to clear the said equipment from its own port.

I understand the anger that the Korean government are feeling.

I'd want to state that on behalf of the Nigerian government, we never met to disrespect anyone. Circumstances that arose lead to the abandoning of those equipment.

The problem is we don't need equipment for our health sector as we have more than enough. Clearing such equipment will not assist the economy in any way.

To avoid such misunderstanding, we'd suggest that the money equivalent is sent. For example, the N1.5million was promptly cleared.

We love and appreciate the Korean government but expect they do proper research and know that we only accept cash and never cash.
