On October 23, 2014 , Kano state Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso will officially declare his intention to contest the 2015 presidential election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
LEADERSHIP reported that Kwankwaso's declaration plans is coming on the heels of failed attempts to make the Kano Governor step down for former military ruler, Mohammed Buhari.
Chief Olisaemeka Akamukali, an APC chieftain has cited Kwankwao's age as an advantage he has over other APC presidential aspirants. "In as much as we agree that Buhari is a man of integrity, you will also agree with me that age is not on his side. He is 73 going to 74 years and ex-vice president Atiku Abubakar is about 70 years old. But Kwankwaso will be 58 by October 21"
