Alhaji Abdulmajid Danbiliki Kwamanda, a die-hard supporter of General Muhammadu Buhari in an interview with the Weekly Trust in Kano State says time is up for the PDP as the massive turnout of Nigerians for the membership registration for the APC across the country shows that the party has come to stay.

"It also shows that the APC has a national appeal as it has broken all divides be it religion, ethnic and other differences that polarise the country political space."

When asked if General Buhari was too old to rule Nigeria, he disagreed.

"What do you mean? He is just 73 and there is nowhere in the country’s constitution that says somebody of his age should not contest. If you talk about health, God has blessed him with good health or have you ever heard or read that General Buhari travelled abroad for medication?

"He is in sound health, wiser than many people who are in their 50s. Let me correct this impression, it is not General Buhari who is pushing himself for the position, Nigerians are the ones clamouring for him, because of the situation we found ourselves in now."

"We are not going to force him on the party, but we all know that Nigerians are the ones who want him to govern the country, because of his track records. If Nigerians and the party say he should not contest, believe me, General Buhari will not hesitate to support and promote anybody who Nigerians want.

He said Governor Kwankwaso should be promoted if General Buhari decides not to contest. "He has the interest of the country at heart and this is why within two and a half years of his administration, he has touched the lives of the people of the state," he said.
