Yesterday, the organized labor union in Kogi State threatened to start again the strike over the government's failure to respect the agreement reached between them before.

From September 22, all workers have been intended to embark the strike when a week strike notice to the government would lapse.

According to the current Nigeria Labor Congress and the Trade Union Congress statement, the strike would start because of government’s failure to pay salaries to workers as it had been agreed in advance.

The union has also reminded that the strike notice was a follow-up to the ultimatum end given to Kogi State government within which to compensate the July salary and to invalidate some of the implemented rules that were not in tandem with civil service rules.

Additionally, the unions wished very much that the government must put into practice the group agreement signed with them on August 1, 2016, adding up that administration must pay the debts of salaries to all workers and local government primary school teachers from January 2016 to August 2017
